Template Crashed

Template 4 years ago

Hi,

I am using the Newsberg Template and it suddenly stopped working. My host tells me its an issue with the template and nothing they can do about it. When I log onto the site it comes up with an error code that reads that the page is currently unable to handle this request, and posts a HTTP ERROR 500. What, if anything can I do about this. I am not a coder, and relatively new to this, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Steven.

If i may....

  1. Maybe you changed PHP version? Not all templates are PHP 8 ready. Also not all are Joomla 4 rewady, if you made upgrade.

  2. Use "Hidden Content" and Share access to admin area.

  3. Your admin login area also doesn't work. In that case please use FTP tool and edit configuration.php file. Find line with public $error_reporting = 'default'; and change 'default' word into 'maximum'.

Hello Steven,

I hope you are doing well.

I am extremely sorry to hear that you got error messages on your site. Would you mind telling us when exactly those error messages occur? On every page or on specific pages? Please share a screenshot with us and tell us in details about the problem you are facing so that we can understand it better.

Thanks!

BTW

I hope you have website backup from days back when all worked well? At least your hosting company should have it.

Is the Newsberg Template Joomla 4 Ready? I think I recently did the update so that might be the issue.

Always check first on Template detail page - if there is template J4 version then download, if not wait.

Do not rush (!)

Ok so it looks like thats probably the issue then, the template says its joomla 3 compatible. I need to figure out how to change that when I cant get into the backend

Ok so its not the version of Joomla, my hosting company is saying this error message comes up:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting ';' or '{' in /home/mozza1972/public_html/test.theliberationplace.com/plugins/system/helixultimate/helixultimate.php on line 202

they say that the helixultimaten this plugin has issues.

Okay, the kind people at my hosting company did something and the code has gone. It now says "Install and activate Helix Ultimate Framework" I can get access to the backend now so is this a simple download the softwars and insatall it in the backend?

yes, you can reinstall template and helix plugin OR only override helix plugin folder if files/folder is missing: plugins\system\helixultimate

But as 1st step please check if Helix plugin is enabled in Joomla Admin area.

Here is plugin package to install / reinstall:

plg_system_helixultimate_v1.1.4.zip
