Failure With Quickstart

Hello,
I am trying to install a Quickstart package and followed the instructions. I downloaded the zipped file, unzipped the contents -> put them in public_html folder, created the database. No errors. When i go to the URL is get 500 error and no joomla screen is showing up. Please provide some assistance.
