SP Page Builder 2 years ago

updated the page via frontend after the 5.1.7 update Portable Office Stairs Manufacturer So I use Frontend Editor to edit the text for Universal Landing & Stair Assembly and i try to add a link, it seems to be using TinyMCE but in system config i have it as JCE PRo... the main issue is that this current editor isnt allowing me to choose from pages like Steps which would have been great. instead it just asks for a url to be entered...any ideas ? has jce been stopped from working on purpose? image of of front end page showing the editor, i want to add link to industry's go-to manufacturer

omg i just read it all...are you actually joking....we have all paid for JCE Pro and you are forcing an inferior editor down our necks...basically you are forcing us to go wordpress....!

Why now when im in a sppagebuilder does it show what looks like TinyMCE and not yours ? why if i try a basic funtion like adding a link does it ask for the url and not offer the menu items or pages or anything ?????? cant believe you would make such a monumental decision to force clients into this....

not impressed - please respond though.

I will reduce SPPB to limited duties - landing pages only. I can go straight to flex and bootstrap in JCE - which I do a lot of anyway. I have 40 websites, most with clients contributing content and editing - I am not going to be able to teach all the people a new system, nor will I ask them. They have businesses to run themselves.

And it's more than a little offensive to simply tell us this is the way it is and lock the discussion. This is Joomshaper interfering with the way some of us do business with our clients.

Please check this conversation https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/28791

The developer stated clearly about JCE and how it works. However, please don't be disappointed. We will check the possiblilty of adding JCE support in a different way but the new editor will stay. Allow us few days.

Thanks

I'm the same, i have 100 sites with this on...some of it requires JCE...this forced changes is an awful business decision for the short term i would guess and has forced most of us to think. For now i am stuck with Joomshaper but their lack of thought for there clients recently has made me go to wordpress ....my ambition by next year is now to completely change ....the mission has started and im sure i wont be the only one.....considering Joomla we only have Sp page builder and Easyblog (equally terrible for support and improvements)...i would say alot will be rethinking their business model......i even see that akeeba have now made all wordpress plugins too....so, i guess its innevitable.... and so we will probably also see the decline of joomla over the next few years too.....shame as ive been in it from the beginning and met the developers, you always kind of wish you can keep going but its insane too...

Kawshar, Thank you for responding personally and highlightling the importance of this. You might not be aware but i have given a lot of useful informatio insight over the years for your developers to fix or improve cerrtain things including integrations with other companies when there has been issues, ive have gone away, researched, talk to third parties and come back with information for your devs to put things right when they definitely did things wrong...so i have been involved in your "journey" for years.

However between the issue with Fontawesome6 and the editor...thats now 2 weeks of issues that were definitely avoidable for now...

Lets' see where we get to in the next 2 or 3 weeks - i understand that we are stuck with your editor, but that isnt the issue. The issue is your editor which you have praised in your marketing, is in fact terrible and the worst on the market right now....at minimum i would expect to choose an article or menu item (and thats just me focussing on links)...the other features for me personally can come later...I have to also assume that your new editor hasnt broken anything that was in place by JCE....

Finally i would also say, that i am assumiing right now that i am using your editor as there is no way of telling. Joomla Sys config says JCE, the editor in use definitely isnt that! and its not quite tinymce either.

Either way myself, clients and the community i am sure are waiting eagerly to be able to work again

Cordial saludo.
