Hi Mikael,

{ I do not work for JoomShaper }

For what you are trying to do (and this is true for anyone else trying to do any type of upgrade / migration / update etc) - 1. take a backup of your files 2. take a backup of your MySQL database - you can do so manually or with tools like LazyDBBackup and download the files via FTP or use Akeeba Backup

Once you have a backup...

You can switch templates of course pretty easily however you will have to do some adjustments/work if you are trying to make Helix Ultimate v2 look exactly like Medico of course...

Once you have done that work or decided that the site looks just fine as is with Helix Ultimate v2 [maybe it needed a new look? ;)] then upgrading to J5! is a matter of a few other things:

  1. is your hosting capable of supporting J5! [newer MySQL and PHP versions]
  2. are all of your components, modules, plugins and templates J5! compatible (and PHP 8.1 at least compatible and ideally PHP 8.2 because you might as well have everything moved up to PHP 8.2 IF you can - you may have to live with PHP 8.1 for a bit longer as everything gets updated by their respective developers).

IF the previous 2 conditions are met - J4! to J5! is a snap and takes < 1 minute to happen.

Good luck and have a happy new (year) faster, better, stronger website!

Cheers,

E.

P.S.: Don't forget to add a GDPR cookie management solution AND turn on the Accessibility Plugin in J5!

Hello and thank you for the information. My biggest concern was whether the old theme would still have any old code left. But I followed the steps, and it worked well.

I noticed that 5.0.2 didn't complain as much about add-ons like SP Page Builder, etc.
