Helix Framework 4 days ago

Hello,

The last update: Helix 2.2.2 cancelled the custom CSS of my menus!

1/ How can I downgrade to Helix 2.2.1?

2/ How to make sure this will not happen in the future?

Thanks for help, regards

Hi Oliver,

  1. From what I saw, that file: templates/shaper_helixultimate/css/custom.css is untouched. Indeed, was small changes but only in template and plugin code itself, not users Custom's CSS or JS.
  2. Using website backup? Or reinstall with older template package, that you should have in your browser download section, if you don't keep this kind of files in separate folder on laptop.
  3. About future - You can make template updates first on backup site, and when is fully OK there - you do it also on production site. It's quite common practice used by experts and middle/big companies.

Yes, I see that Menu is broken, but I cannot tell how it was before, and how it was made, what files you edited etc.

Downgrade is easy, just reinstall with older version (1 minute) or use backup files (15min), then clear Joomla cache (10sec).

Thank you Paul for your quick answer.

Yes I did a site backup before I updated the framework. But I'd rather not to reinstall all that for the moment...

Could you tell me where I can find the "2.2.1" Helix-Ultimate plugin (like it is possible for older versions of extensions)?

If you talk about plugin, as Web Agency you don't collect J! extensions anywhere ? I guess, you focused on WP only.

But I'd rather not to reinstall all that for the moment..

In Joomla, in similar way as you know from WordPress, you can only override template folder and plugins\system\helixultimate folder from backup, you don't have to override whole website. And that takes a few minutes, not hours.

It was a TIP for the future.

Thank you, Paul, for all this FREE advice. But it still costs the price of an Agency Plan subscription... I think that for this price, we are entitled to receive some advice without having to put up with rude insinuations...

I can confirm that I have not kept a copy of all your plugin updates for several years! I thought I could rely on my provider's expertise for that.

Whether I want to restore a backup or not is my business, thank you.

In this case, downgrading to version 2.2.1 does not solve the problem. So I'll have to investigate a little further...

Thanks for helping.

Maybe you need also template files, not only plugin.

As for collecting extensions, trust me, it comes in handy more often than you think.

FYI, I also downgraded the template, no effect: the problem remains...
