Update Fails

SP Page Builder 1 month ago

Since the last update, version 6.1.0, I get the following error message when trying to perform the update: "Copy file failed (Component installation error)."

Other component updates work normally. So it's probably not due to the access rights of the Temp folder.

I've already tried several methods. I installed directly from the ZIP file. Then I manually extracted the ZIP file to the Temp folder and installed from there. I always get the same error.

Unfortunately, I can't find anything to identify the actual problem.

You are welcome 😊

It could be version mismatch in the database. However, this issue should not happen again.

Hello Ofi Khan, unfortunately, the page is an intranet page and not publicly accessible. Is it possible to share the information another way? Otherwise, I would have to set up external access.

Best regards

Please take a full site backup with Akeeba Backup in ZIP format and share here. Follow this tutorial. I will check it on my localhost.

Hello Ofi,

yes, I can do that. However, please handle the data with care. Where can I share the ZIP file? Isn't this a public forum? Do you need any website login details from me?

Thanks. I have checked it. Please change these permissions on your server configuration. Make these writable. Ask your hosting provider to do this.

I have taken an Akeeba Backup and installed the site on my localhost. Then I have updated SP Page Builder here. Please install this backup on your server. You will have the latest SP Page Builder version with it.

Backup file has been shared on the hidden content. Follow this tutorial to install the backup.

Please make configuration.php file unwritable from the hosting configuration.

Hi Ofi, thanks, it worked. What was the cause? Will I have the same problem with the next update?
