Actually, you can do the update work, but taking a full backup of your site is a must.

Clearing Joomla and browser cache, and then rechecking the Template Options would be helpful too.

I installed this on my dev site (wasn't going to install this on a production site yet!)... so I'm experiencing the same issues I see others having ... mostly with the menus not working correctly (offmenu specifically) and also the buttons on the default header. I guess I'll just wait until either Helix is fixed or Innovate is updated. Thanks...

Yes, it is really wiser when there is a huge transformation introduced, to wait.

However, did you try to recheck your template options, please? Especially, choosing a header style in the basic tab, layout tab, and menu settings?
