Big Date Shows Wrong Date

Hi, I'm using the Vocal Template. In the module "upcoming event" , i changed the values to my date and location. But the"Big Date" still remains "1 Jan". I've read a couple of forum items, but i cannot find a real answer how to fix this. is there anyboby who can help me fix this problem?

I just found out that strtotime($item->extraFields->Date->value); Doesn't return a value. What could be the cause of that?
