How do I add a new section with 4 module positions? In layour builder I add new section above the content section and call it video-top but it is not saved as a section. I want to add video-top 1, video-top 2, video-top 3, video-top 4. I have been unable to find tutorials for this or they are outdated. I have been using Joomla since it forked from Mombo in the middle 00's. I understand sections and module positions. This is my first time using page builder and I am getting confused.

Hi, Yes, I started with Mambo too in 2005. do we talk about about Template Module Positions OR columns gid inside Row?

If about 2nd (and we talk about Admin editor):

  1. Click "Add New Row"
  2. Choose 4 columns
  3. Click Generate

I want to create 4 Template Module Positions in the same row and be able to assign modules to them via Joomla back end -> modules. Or is this not done that way anymore anymore? I am thinking that I may be approachng this from an incorrect perspective?

First, create your modules and in the module position field, give them whatever name you want (type something "mymod1" or something and hit enter - not return - to lock the name.)

Second, do as per Paul's instructions above. In each of the four columns you would load the module positions you created. You can also give the parent row a section name.

The flexibility of this system is amazing.

Yes I create Jomla modules this way. Good to know I can also use this with SPPB. Getting used to SPPB has been interesting. I have been so used to doing everything from the backend that it has taken me a while to get used to designing/editing from the front end. I am really liking the flexability SPPB offers. I also appriciate designing with real time visualizations. I appreciate everyones help and have really begun to understand this amazing application. This old dog is learning new tricks.

SPPB - cannot be used to change template layout.

it's component and module. It means that you can use SPPB module with your own content in Template Module position.

OR/AND

You can can build own own page (subpage) content using it. I mean in component area.

If reading is not boring - SPPB can be used also in Articles - documenation: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/sp-page-builder-3/sp-page-builder-inside-articles
