Suggestion: Link - Pages

It is a great new function. So far it has been great, but it would be nice if you can implement couple new things:

  1. Perhaps this had already been posted, but it would be nice to be able to search for pages rather than having to scroll to find a page. It'll be even nicer if there are ways to filter pages by categories or what not.

  2. All the title of the linked pages are shown as Main, rather than page title. If there is a setting to adjust for that, I haven't seen it, but it certainly would be nice to have.

Hi ayao,

I am not sure what you are looking for though.

  1. Here is search field and filter for SP Page Builder pages: https://prnt.sc/9ffAsqpp2NLy
  2. Can you explain it more with screenshots to understand it better, please?

Best Regards

The "Link" function in each Elements tool such as "Heading."

Click on Add Elements -> Heading -> Link ->

There will be (3) options: Url, Menu, and Page.

When you select Page, all of the pages, both Articles and SP Page Builder Pages will populate. There is no filter with selection, simply a long scroll with all the Articles/Pages that are published.

Also when you use this function to link to a page, the opened page will not show its page title.

Thanks for the explanation.

However, you can type the name of the desired page you are looking for in the search field there too: https://prnt.sc/0muT5iXlaYgo

No filter is available there, but you can still search with the page name.

About this query: "Also when you use this function to link to a page, the opened page will not show its page title."

The Page Title is not linked with the page itself but with the menu item to which it is actually assigned.

https://prnt.sc/ki8iGEVBFk02

So if you link your element or addon to a page, then it will not show the page title, and now you will find it reasonable, I think. On the other hand, if you link your element or addon to a menu item that is associated with the desired page, then you will get the page along with the page title.

I hope it's a bit clearer now.

Best Regards

I don't know which browser allows you to be able to type into the search box, but neither Safari nor Chrome on Mac are allowing me to do so. Where it says "Select page," is just a drop-down.

Also, when you link a page by "Select page," there isn't an option to use Page Title. Look at the first screenshot you submitted. How would you be able to add a page title option?

Basically what you're saying is that don't use "Select page" option when linking a page, because it has so many limited functions, such as unable to filter, unable to show page title.

Sorry for the delayed response.

Is your issue still present? Can I have a screencast illustrating all the ssues you are facing, please? It will help us to understand it better.
