Urgent Issue With SPPB 5.x On Joomla 5.x - Need Assistance

Dear SPPB Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I'm reaching out regarding a critical issue I've encountered while trying to transition to SPPB 5.x on Joomla 5.x. As a long-time user of your product, I've eagerly awaited the enhancements promised in version 5.x. However, I've run into a significant obstacle that has halted my progress.

Upon upgrading to Joomla 5.x and implementing SPPB 5.x on my development site, I encountered a persistent bug. Specifically, after creating a new page in the backend and successfully viewing it on the frontend, the page content mysteriously disappears upon subsequent backend access. This issue is documented in the following forum threads:

  1. https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/29087
  2. https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/16159

Despite researching these threads diligently, I've been unable to find a viable solution. Given the urgency of my situation—especially considering Joomla 4.x's impending end of support in October 2024—I'm reaching out to your team for assistance.

Could you please provide guidance on resolving this issue? With approximately thirty websites requiring updates before the deadline, a prompt resolution is crucial to our workflow.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance.

Warm regards,

Hi,

start from checking: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/technical-requirements

It would be great if you'd have high values for : memory_limit, post_max_size and enabled GZip and PHP 8.2/8.3

About edition problems, remember that page should be opended in ONE editor only, not edited in both in that same time.

SPPB 5.3.1 is more stable than previus 5.x versions were.

Dear Paul

Thank you for your reply.

I have implemented some changes, and all that I am unsure about is Gzip. I have changed my .htaccess file by adding the text below. <IfModule mod_deflate.c> AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/css AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/javascript AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/plain AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/xml </IfModule>

Please look at my system parameters and tell me what I am missing. There is a link to the system info I downloaded below in the hidden section.

I have a fresh Joomla 5.1.0 installation with the Helix Ultimate 2.1.0 template and SPPB 5.3.1. Yesterday, SPPB saved the file, and I could see the changes on the front page, but when I returned to the backend editor, the data was missing. Today, I cannot find the newly created SPPB page, and nothing is stored in the backend editor. You can see the actions I took on a video linked in the hidden section below.

I am a hosting reseller at a reputable service provider with thousands of other websites. I have 50 websites running on their servers, of which about 30 are running Joomla 4.4.4 with SPPB 3.8.10. The rest are running WordPress (not my sites – I am only hosting them). I do not believe there is anything wrong with my host. My clients can create WordPress sites on it, and I can create Joomla 4/SPPB 3 sites on it, so why not use Joomla 5 with SPPB 5?

Dear Paul

Thank you, it seems I can create pages now. I hope I can import JSON files from J4/SPPB3 too!
