Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

To create a blog layout similar to your older custom-developed site, please follow this guide:

https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/create-a-dynamic-blog-in-joomla

This tutorial explains how to build a dynamic blog layout using SP Page Builder.

Regarding Custom Fields, please note that the Dynamic Content system currently supports the following field types only:

  • Text
  • Text Area
  • URL
  • Editor
  • Media
  • Calendar
  • Radio
  • Number
  • Integer

Other custom field types are not currently supported.

Kind regards

Hi Thank you for your quick reply.

I'm still having trouble understanding because I'm already using a regular page to create an index page with an articles add-on. Have you seen my images? See new images in my cloud: front-end, index page article-category.png backoffice- addon articles (page).png regards

Hello,

Thank you for the additional screenshots and clarification.

I have reviewed your setup.

Please note that the Articles addon in SP Page Builder is not designed to function as a full article index page builder. It is mainly intended to display a limited selection of articles inside a page (for example: featured articles, latest posts, or filtered items in a section).

Because of this limitation:

  • It does not support custom fields integration
  • It does not provide pagination options
  • It is not intended for full category/index layouts

If your goal is to build a proper article index page similar to a blog or category listing, the recommended approach is to use the Dynamic Content → Articles feature instead, or rely on Joomla’s native category blog layout.

This will give you:

  • Full category-based listing
  • Pagination support
  • Better compatibility with article data

Kind regards

HI

As you could see from the images, the blog section of the service catalog would be suitable.

Could we keep it and not create a separate article index similar to a blog or category list? If so, how would we do this specifically using the Dynamic Content → Articles feature instead? A preliminary example would be appreciated, as it would help us given the urgency. Regards

Hi I only want to create a Details page SPPB, but is it possible to link it to an SPPB page that includes the SPPB articles add-on (see image in the provided Nextcloud), which is sufficient in this case?

I'll try again. I just want the SPPB article details page. I don't want to create an SPPB blog index (I find it complicated).

However, you mention linking the details page and this blog index in SPPB.

The question is, is it possible to link this SPPB article details page with an SPPB page containing the Articles add-on (see image with the term in Nextcloud)?

If you have created the blog/article details page using SP Page Builder, then there is no need to separately link it to an “Articles” addon page.

Once an article is assigned to an SP Page Builder layout for single article view, Joomla will automatically use that SP Page Builder layout whenever that article is opened—regardless of whether the entry point is a blog index, menu item, or any Articles addon listing.

In other words, the Articles addon page (index view) only acts as a listing mechanism. It does not control the rendering of the single article itself. The SP Page Builder layout takes over the article details view globally based on the article view override configuration.

So yes—what you want is already the expected behavior: you don’t need to link or duplicate anything between the Articles addon and the SP Page Builder single article layout.
