Content

The Content section in the Power Admin template is identical to the default Content section found in Joomla’s built-in admin template, Atum. When you expand the Content section, you will find the following options:

  • Articles
  • Add New Article
  • Featured Articles
  • Categories
  • Workflows
  • Fields
  • Field Groups
  • Media Manager

Articles Dashboard

  • Select an action: You can select actionable things from this dropdown menu like Publish, unpublish, feature, archive, Check-in, trash, batch.
  • + New: Create a new article.
  • Sort By: The Sort By option allows you to organize the article list in ascending or descending order based on different criteria such as votes, hits, IDs, ratings, start publishing, finish publishing, and more.
  • Show Filter:
  • Table Header Row: Displays the column titles such as ID, Title, Category, Status, Date Created, Hits, Votes, and Ratings.
Note: The table header row is not sortable.

Add New Article

The Add New Article option lets you quickly create a new content article from the Power Admin interface. It opens the article editor where you can enter the title, content, category, images, tags, and publishing options.

This shortcut helps administrators start creating content immediately without navigating through multiple menus.

The Featured Articles section displays articles that are marked as featured on your Joomla site. Featuring an article highlights it for special visibility, often on the homepage or designated layouts. From this section, you can quickly review, edit, or manage featured content.

Categories

The Categories area allows you to organize your articles into structured groups. Categories help maintain a clear content hierarchy and make it easier to manage and display related articles on the site. From here, you can create new categories, edit existing ones, or adjust their publishing status.

Workflows

The Workflows section manages the publishing workflow for your content. Workflows define the stages an article goes through, such as draft, review, or published. They help teams coordinate content approval and ensure that publishing follows a structured process.

Fields

The Fields section lets you create custom fields that can store additional information for articles or other content types. These fields extend the default content structure and allow you to add data such as text, images, dates, or links.

Custom fields are useful for building more flexible and structured content.

Fields Groups

The Fields Groups feature allows you to organize related custom fields into logical groups. Grouping fields makes the editing interface more structured and easier to manage, especially when multiple custom fields are used for a specific content type.

Media Manager

The Media Manager is the central place to upload, organize, and manage your site’s media files. You can add images, videos, and other files, create folders, and reuse media across your content.

At the top, you will find the Create New Folder and Upload options. Use them to create a new folder for your images or upload images directly to the sample-images folder.
