ALL EasyStore Customers Should Be Given A FULL REFUND

EasyStore is not currently fit for purpose, as shown in numerous questions which continue to be posted in the last few days. (see examples below)

Until EasyStore is production ready - which for the avoidance of doubt means supporting CORE Joomla features and working as expected - ALL EasyStore customers should be given FULL REFUNDS for their purchases and asked to HELP JoomShaper in beta testing this product.

  • New feature requests should be prioritised and recorded publically so their priority can be assessed.
  • Bug reports should be dealt with as the highest priority, NOT using hacks which will revert on the next update.

I agree with you, @Stuart Clark. It is a beta development product, and I haven't been able to use it in any project since I bought the membership last October, almost a year ago. I have tried all the updates, and I no longer consult anything in the forum because my initial issue was ignored. This year, I took it as a way to "fund" the project, but if there are no definitive advances before the membership renewal, I will downgrade my membership level. I believe a year is more than enough to resolve the issues of a product that was supposedly ready for production. I would gladly support a Patreon or similar initiative to help develop a new product; I know it's costly, but selling Easy Store as a finished product has proven not to be the way, as customers may feel deceived, rightfully so, losing money, time, and resources.

I'm sorry, @Ofi Khan, but the colleague is right, and in my opinion, the fundamental issue is deeper, and I would like to know if you have plans to resolve it. From the beginning, Easy Store allows creating categories and assigning products to them (well, assigning a product to multiple categories doesn't work correctly), but the most important aspect is the structure of categories and products. It is not possible to display all categories on a single page, in grid or list format, with a menu item and a friendly URL. Many of the issues raised in the forum this year stem from this, caused by using the filter to replace, poorly and quickly, the basic navigation functionalities and requirements not only of any e-commerce but also of any website. This leads to problems with native multilingual support, the overall slowness of the extension, usability issues, and the impossibility of making Easy Store search engine friendly, not to mention the structured product data that should be essential nowadays.

Honestly, if you decide to launch a new e-commerce solution for Joomla, I understand that it is to improve on those already available and functional, such as EShop, HikaShop, or Joomshopping, to name a few. Another question I would like you to answer is, how much more time do you need for that?

I am very interested in your response, as it will determine whether I renew my Easy Store membership.

@Ofi Khan - you can see I am not alone in my views. @lluis above demonstrates exactly what I've been trying to get accross to you for weeks now!

We need an OFFICIAL, CONSIDERED response to these questions - and we need to know whether it is worth OUR time and money to keep funding your company's ongoing future.

What you seem to be ignoring is that if we all STOP renewing our memberships, you won't have ANY income to keep developing. Your LACK OF SUPPORT and REFUSAL TO FIX BUGS or ADD REQUESTED FEATURES are the actions which are going to cause us, your customers, to go elsewhere!

Dear Ofi Khan,

I have no doubt that you are working hard on Easy Store and that it will improve in the future. However, I also have no doubt that presenting it in its early development stage as a finished product has been a mistake that does not benefit your company's prestige and has cost us time and money.

The membership change that practically "forced" your customers to purchase Easy Store has been another significant mistake, which I assume you will fix soon. There are other ways to finance projects, as I mentioned in the previous post, and many of us would have supported them.

But since you presented and sold it to us as the Joomla solution for e-commerce, how did you expect customers to react? You knew the real state of the project's development. Yes, some still buy Easy Store, but it is not for its functionalities or stability. It is because they believe it has the functionalities you advertise, which, as of today, is far from the reality.

In short, as I always say, reaching the top is very difficult, but falling is very easy. You know what you are doing in your company, but if you really listen to us, take action, fix the technical and membership errors (there are many ways to do it), and above all, keep us informed.

I'm afraid you're still missing out ignoring the points that are being made by us, your customers.

The simple truth is that as it stands, EasyStore is NOT PRODUCTION READY - that means that it can't be used in a production e-commerce site!

I'm not sure why it is your staff find it so hard to understand the basic core features that are mandatory to using EasyStore as a production system. One of those core features, and a feature used ON THIS VERY WEBSITE is seamless Joomla account creation when an user makes their first order.

i notice you don't use EasyStore as your e-commerce component on this site - that says a great deal about what you know internally about it's limitations!

As your customers, we now can not accept vague promises of something different at some unknown point in the future - we need things to change NOW

If EasyStore can't be made to function as your customers need it to - the most floating issues being user another creation and taxes - then write simply YOU NEED TO PROVIDE REFUNDS -- IMMEDIATELY

If you continue to ignore these pleas for action, i may be forced to escalate my complaint to financial regulators. You are selling a product that is not fit for purpose!

EasyStore is not developed to sell subscription or digital goods. This will not serve our purpose. Also, we are using a third-party gateway. It is not possible to switch things overnight.

I agree with all said by the customers above. EasyStore is NOT PRODUCTION READY and Joomshaper is using us as beta testers and QA which is understandable if we didn't PAY a lot for this beta version. Instead JS should pay us for thesting and improving their product!

One of my clients closed her company last week because she was unable to properly sale products with EasyStore. This cost her many expences and her company bankrupted. How you can compensate this?!

She asked me to export all her orders because authorities asked for this information and guess what - THERE IS NO ORDER EXPORT option. Now she may be receive a fine because of this!

They are still plenty of bugs and missing functionalities in EasyStore and we all struggle to use it at all.

I will open a ticket AGAIN for some missings because they were ignored durring last few updates!

And I will join the others asking for A FULL REFUND untill your product is production ready!

One of the best component Sellacious is closed now becasue of the joomshaper

They assoicted with joomshaper and not able to handle templates becasue of this issue they closed sellacious

Now easy store also near to that I recommend do not purchase it right now

I am aware of the situation in Bangladesh and my thoughts are with all those affected; but whilst that may be affecting the current speed of response to these issues, it has not affected responses or lack theeof for the past few weeks.

I am also very dissapointed with EasyStore! Lack of basic funcionalities for customers, like advanced product search by custom product features, no possibity of assigning delivery time for different products, no popular payment gateways for EU conutries and so make it impossible to work with.

Joomshaper sells a dream of EasyStore - nice looking templates like allura or trove with no proper ecommerce core functionalities.

Does any of you have a good experience with any other Joomla e-commerce component like Eshop, Hikashop, Phoca Cart, Joomshopping or any other working?

I use EShop on 2 production websites - it works brilliantly; and if there's ever a feature I need adding, or a bug which needs addressing - the developer will sort it all out (yes, including new feature creation) in a few days at most!

If a new feature is too large to complete ad-hoc, the developer will be honest and give a timescale of when he'll implement it!

^^ That is what good product development and support looks like!

(now, I really want to be able to use EasyStore for one site, but the continued lack of support and refusal to address missing features is really, relly making that unlikely!)

Primarily because I've paid for EasyStore and I want to use it for a specific site, for which is design suits my purpose -as long as it works. Therefore it needs to work!

If you are arguing that it is ok for EasyStore to be fundamentally broen or not fit for purpose simply because other solutions exist, then why the hell are we being "forced" into paying for EasyStore?

Ergo - the original statement in this thread still stands!

We have all had enough of these baseless promises is something maybe happening at some point in the future.

You have continually refused to address what is going to be done NOW to resolve these issues. As the features being requested are not even confirmed to be under consideration, let alone have a DEFINITIVE delivery date, the fact remains that customers, me included, STILL NEED A REFUND!

We have been paying for s product which does NOT function as described, and therefore under your very restrictive refund policy - we ARE entitled to a refund!

Please answer this specific post and these specific points without further delay!

Please try it with Custom Feature option on products. It should be possible through it.

I did try, but there is no possibility of displaying "specification" field on the storefront layout.
Since this is one of the most important information about the product, there shoul be a specal field for delivery time available for product list.

Please suggest the payment gateways you want. I will share it with the team to check.

Paul will handle the payment gateway requests. You may ask for follow up on that thread. However, I have tried Additional Data feature. Here, I have added delivery time on the product details. Then on the Single Page design, I have included SP Page Builder Specification addon.

  1. As i wrote before - the specification field can not be used/displayed on storefront page.
  2. You can not filter products by Additional Data field and in some ecommerces delivery time is essential for customers.
  3. I think Additional data feature is designed for multiple product details, so by using it just for "delivery time" information you would loose specification feature or you would need to hide other data by using css classes.

You can see NUMEROUS other customers who agree with what I'm saying - that we have PAID for an INCOMPLETE, NOT USEABLE product. We are NOT your beta testers - we are customers paying for and expecting a FULL product.

JoomShaper have completely FAILED to provide a fully working verson of EasyStore - even OVER ONE YEAR AFTER IT LAUNCHED - yet you are expecting your PAYING CUSTOMERS to KEEP WAITING for more and more time whilst you decide if you can be BOTHERED to fix the product!

Hi. I was a daily visitor of the forum. I was truly excited with this new promising e-commerce solution. I engaged in 5 diferent projects as soon it was released. My clients were also excited. So I put several work hours on deploying Joomla websites, loading content. Preparing it all for them to have online sales solutions.

I re-subscribed my pagebuilder with EasyStore. Was not cheap, but I repeat it looked simple, neat and very functional.

It's past almost a year. I had to change my promising projects to J2Store (whilst I was reading post over post and new versions of EasyStore with tool to import from J2Store). I had to produce the online stores I had agreed with my clients. I can't have, on a UE country, a messy store where I can't set prices WITH VAT included. And have them properly discriminated on check out. This was the red line that got me with my harms down, disapointed and with that huge regret of the money I spent on this subscription. I agree with Stuart Clark: refund! Otherwise, you should consider extend for a full year to us all beta-testers of this solution.

Look, I was supportive. I gave all my constructive critics. I waited MONTHS for the simple correction about a fundamental function of a store concerning PRICES. I can't have online store with confusing prices guys. I can't work on this for my clients either. I salut all the hard work and effort the team has put into corrections and improvements. BUT!

You do need to prioritize! You do need to have a clear criteria and publish I don't say immediatly but every 15 days or 1 month on what the team is working. Do you realize that this post: https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/29651 is 7 months old? I know you do, you answer on it every month.

This extension either is meant to be a tool for online sales or to be a neat product catalog. I can make catalogs with many other tools (free or paid).

As others said, please gather the team. I'm close to renew or not my subscription. I had to put my time and effort on other tools so far, so if no refund/extension or true noticeable improvements on EasyStore I'm afraid that like me a lot others will just walk away...

Also, I'm not blind about internet blackouts. But that is recent, and all the mentioned core problems are months old.

I feel very sad and disapointed Ofi Khan. A bit angry too... I honestly believe the team.... You guys can do this work, but one year was lost (for me)...

Joomshaper should have pointed out long ago that Easystore is a beta version that is not yet compliant with the EU market guidelines.

I'll now wait another 2 weeks to see if anything happens and will otherwise point out on all important review platforms for Europe that Easystore currently means useless and wasted money and time for European users

Unfortunately, I feel completely fooled... I've been trusting support's words so far...big mistake

I was eagerly anticipating this update, as it seemed that the team had taken note of the members' feedback and there would be significant improvements. This has not been the case. I am so disappointed that I see little hope for a short-term solution. Instead of wasting time adding new features and developing templates for Easy Store to gain more customers, you should focus on definitively resolving the issues we have reported to you, to avoid losing the customers you already have. The more people buy Easy Store, the more criticism and frustration you will face.

Now I truly believe that the time has come for you to seriously consider issuing a REFUND for EasyStore Agency memberships. The templates are mostly for Easy Store, which we cannot use because the extension does not work as it should. Those that are not for Easy Store are repetitive and of low quality, offering nothing new. The extensions are updated late, and the release of new All Layout Bundles is increasingly delayed. I feel this way after paying $599 for the EasyStore Agency membership and wasting time and more money when the client returns the work because Easy Store doesn't function.

Quantity is not the same as quality; your memberships are based on quantity. Your only top products are SP Page Builder and Helix Ultimate, which could be even better and are still lacking, if only you had invested the wasted time in developing Easy Store.

We need to know NOW what you plan to do.

My sincere apology for the delay in solving this matter. I understand your frustration and loss of time and money on supporting EasyStore. I also appreciate your concern and good-will to make the product better.

Yesterday I had a meeting with the development team. I presented your feedback to the development team and got their answers on it.

🎉 Good news! We are re-designing our tax system to comply with EU tax policy. 🎉

Some of the key features on the new tax system will be:

  • Product or Region-based tax
  • One-stop shop VAT registration
  • Tax override on category
  • Gross price (price with tax) display on the Shop and Product page

We require time to research and develop it. Research and design for tax management are almost done. The development is also going alongside. The team is working hard as the issue is our top priority now. We are trying our best to solve this soon with all our resources. Our estimated time to release the version is in the second week of September. We also plan to release a beta version prior to the stable release. After collecting your feedback on the beta version, we will finalize the stable release.

Hopefully, all your issues regarding Tax management will be fixed with this release. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In most companies and systems world wide - BETA testers are not expected to have already had to pay for an incomplete product!

After collecting your feedback on the beta version, we will finalize the stable release.

JoomShaper need to address the issue that ALL EasyStore customers have WASTED their money and been left dangling for OVER A YEAR whilst we have helped you develop this product.

WE have all lost money supporting EasyStore. Not it is time that JoomShaper REIMBURSE us for those losses!

(this is not a threat, but this can be followed up legally if JoomShaper continue to refuse to acknowledge this situation)

Good news about the Tax implementation, although there's yet another month's wait to achieve a working system. This is now WELL OVER A YEAR since the "PRODUCTION READY extension was launched!

However, there's no news about when USER CREATION and USER MANAGEMENT will be addressed. This is a SERIOUS lacking within EasyStore right now. It makes it impossible to convert guests into real users; it makes it impossible to register Joomla accounts in a seamless manner during checkout; and it makes the user experience crap for existing Joomla accounts when purchasing an item.

WHAT IS THE ROADMAP TO RESOLVE USER ISSUES??

User creation issue is solved in the latest version 1.2.1. If you register as a Joomla user, then you will be added as EasyStore customer. Please check the screencast.

Half fixed!

NOW - you need to fix the USER EXPERIENCE of using EasyStore - you seem to have ZERO idea about how this should work!

Let's look at the steps required so buy a product in EasyStore where guest checkout is disabled:

  1. Go to shop
  2. Add item to cart
  3. Click checkout
  4. Click I don't have an account / create account
  5. Enter details
  6. (get redirected to BLANK page with NO confirmation of actions)
  7. Click on email confirmation (no indication on site this will be needed) OR wait for admin confirmation (unknown)
  8. Click on shopping cart
  9. Click on checkout
  10. Enter login details
  11. Click on shopping cart
  12. Click on checkout
  13. FINALLY - type in shipping / billing details etc.
  14. Click through shipping / payment steps and COMPLETE ORDER

NOW let's look at the steps required to buy a product in most other Joomla ecommerce packages

  1. Go to shop
  2. Add item to cart
  3. Click checkout
  4. Click on "register account"
  5. Enter user details including shipping and billing info
  6. (agree to captcha etc. - as account creation doesn't need to be enabled in Joomla, no account activation is needed)
  7. Click through shipping / payment steps and COMPLETE ORDER

SO - In EasyStore there is a convoluted 14 STEP PROCESS required to register and purchase a product, whereas in MOST OTHER ecommerce packages there is a 6 or 7 STEP PROCESS which at NO POINT navigates the user away from the checkout screens!

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO FIX IN EASYSTORE

As I've previously said - the SIMPLE, CLEAN way to do this will be to make the "Remember these details for the next time" link (on guest checkout) AUTOMATICALLY create a Joomla account for the user!

What is your timescale to implement the above???

I would suggest that all active users of EasyStore to receive a lifetime subscription as a compensation for all our efforts and problems we face each day using your e-store system.

We are continuosly sending you feedback with bugs and issues and we pay for it without even be able to use EasyStore.

You had to do a better research for how e-store systems work before selling us your unfinished product! All mentioned in the forum had to be fixed before the first stable release and then you had to ask for money. We are not only missled, we are exploited.

I agree with Stan and Stuart.

Aside from user usability, it is essential that Easy Store behaves like any Joomla component, that we can link products, categories and subcategories in any menu item. I made this observation months ago:

I am so foolish that I looked again to see if I was wrong. Indeed, I was not, but I think you already knew that.

I am so foolish that I made a diagram of what I meant in the original post of your team member. I have already told her that if you want that post to continue, you should transfer it to you or Toufiq. It is an enormous lack of respect to respond after 6 months.

But in truth, I am not that foolish. I want you to improve, but I don't want you to "confuse," to put it mildly, community members. In all the social media posts that I see announcing Easy Store as a revolutionary product, I will respond with my opinion and encourage all members to do the same. My patience is running out.

For my part, with this diagram, it is the last time I waste my time helping to improve Easy Store, a beta-phase product that does not work and for which we have paid. Either you solve your problems or give us our money back.

I get what you want now. I have talked to the development team and shared the diagram. They will review it. Initially, they are positive about your suggestion and might bring in in the future versions. But I cannot give you any estimated time. We are currently working on our new tax management to comply with EU law. This is our topmost priority now. I hope that you will understand and allow us some time. The team is working hard to fix everything as soon as possible.

Hi,

With the experience I have now with Easy Store, I would never have bought it. I see that Joomshaper continues to promote it on social media as a wonderful product. It is not ethical for community members, without the information we have, to buy it thinking it is a product that it actually is not.

Therefore, I have started posting the URL of this thread in every Easy Store advertisement that might mislead community members. I have started on X and Joomla.

Please provide timescales for the outstanding EasyStore issues which are preventing users from making full, production use of this product. These outstanding issues include (but are not limited to)

  • Joomla user creation workflow on checkout
  • Tax system overhaul to allow for multiple tax rates per country / region (EU tax rules)
  • PayPal payment plugin configuration
  • Updated payment plugins to support new guest user order view solution
  • Full category / sub-category support, including publishing options and sub-category display in the EasyStore filter

If you need examples of these issues (once again) - PLEASE ASK!

Also, please publish publically the roadmap for EasyStore releases going forward.

Still waiting for answerr....Your customers give you lot of elements ( sometimes complete plugins, just to adapt , like Colissimo....for a few months) and still no integration of their needs... How do you want to sell your extension worldwide , if it only can be used by few customers ( only 1 tax rate per cournty, only 1 currency ...) !!

My sincere apology for the delay in solving this matter. I understand your frustration and loss of time and money on supporting EasyStore. I also appreciate your concern and good-will to make the product better.

Yesterday I had a meeting with the development team. I presented your feedback to the development team and got their answers on it.

🎉 Good news! We are re-designing our tax system to comply with EU tax policy. 🎉

Some of the key features on the new tax system will be:

  • Product or Region-based tax
  • One-stop shop VAT registration
  • Tax override on category
  • Gross price (price with tax) display on the Shop and Product page

We require time to research and develop it. Research and design for tax management are almost done. The development is also going alongside. The team is working hard as the issue is our top priority now. We are trying our best to solve this soon with all our resources. Our estimated time to release the version is in the second week of September. We also plan to release a beta version prior to the stable release. After collecting your feedback on the beta version, we will finalize the stable release.

Hopefully, all your issues regarding Tax management will be fixed with this release. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The team has not yet decided about adding multi-currency feature. I have informed them about it earlier. It will be considered after the release of new tax system.

Just like the management of the EU tax system, the structure I sent you should have been available from day one, as is the case with all electronic store systems. You ask for time, no problem; I use other e-commerce systems that work perfectly and without issues.

Now that you have time, how do we resolve the financial matter? I have paid for a year of a product that I haven't been able to use and won't use until it's better than the ones I currently use. This is a serious question that requires a serious answer.

I asked for a serious and coherent response, and you provided one. When it's time to renew my membership, I will proceed according to your instructions, hoping that the sales team will keep their word.

When Easy Store is free from all issues, not just fiscal ones—there are more problems to solve—I will be happy to try it. Until then, it doesn't work for me.

@Adam K - if you accept JoomShaper's refund, they will immediately cancel any active subscription you may have (I guess this is understandable) - meaning you can't then download any fixes for EasyStore OR report any further issues with it.

That means, the only real solution is to accept the 6 month license extension to ensure you get the updated versions of EasyStore. Of course, this doesn't in any way compensate for the considerable amount of time many of us have spent testing and trying to fix EasyStore, but it is the best that is on offer at the moment.

You have trusted us and gave us time. This is why we would like to reward you with this extension. Please do not misunderstand my words. I will argue or comment anymore until the solution is actually functional. It is not, and it's past a year (for me). My subscription is ending and was of no use...

I will send the email as you pointed. I just want to make this public because 2nd week of september is gone an we honestly can't believe more promises.

yes, they promissing again and agin to deliver. they said before weeks tax issue is fixed and will be released in beta version before final stable update will come 2nd week of september. we costumers are pleased to wait again and again and joomshaper once more isnt fullfilling what they announced ...

its a bit like a scam to us costumers

It's unfortunate that we're still in a position of not having known, guaranteed dates on when missing features and existing bugs will get fixed.

We were promised a huge update to the TAX system - that update date has been missed. We were promised a dull roadmap - that hasn't been provided. We were promised bugs would be fixed - there are still many outstanding bugs.

... sure, Joomshaper suffered a DDOS attack at the end of last week which I'm sure took up a lot of their time; but that doesn't mean they can't communicate with us!
